CEO 36 Lion, GAFAR Heaps Praise On IMOH EZEKIEL
Published: November 29, 2012Chairman of Lagos based 36 Lion Academy, Liameed Olawale Gafar, has showered praise on the teenage striker Imoh Ezekiel, who has taken the Jupiler League by storm this season, contributing to 11 goals scored by Standard Liege in the championship.
''The first day I saw Imoh, I remember vividly. He had an incredible speed. Nobody could keep up with him, for he was always a few steps ahead of his opponents. I knew immediately that with him a great talent we had in our rank,'' ' Gafar told the online edition of Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad.
He added: ''Imoh is a pleasant guy who is always ready to help others. Parties were not spent on him because he lived one hundred percent for football. His days consisted only of eating, exercising and sleeping.
''With his team mates nearly insane after the victory that led to our promotion to the second division, Imoh asked me if he could call his father . Tentatively he asked his father to pray for him. Then he looked coolly at his bed.''
In January 2012, Ezekiel signed a short - term contract with Standard Liege. Before then, he failed to impress Club Brugge during trials as he struggled with the cold.
