JOSEPH YOBO Admits Marseille Game Was Tough
Published: November 23, 2012Fenerbahçe SK defender and Nigeria skipper Joseph Yobo has admitted that Thursday's fifth round tie of the group stage of the Europa League against his former employer Marseille (1 - 0) was a tough match.
The 32 - year - old told the official website of UEFA: ''We're delighted and it's great to have come here and got the three points, even if we knew we needed just the one point to go through. Marseille are a good side and they caused us trouble. At home, we were leading 2-0 against them and in five minutes they equalized for 2-2.
''It's natural when you've taken the lead that your opponents attack back, and that's why we tried to protect the goal. Ours was a great goal, the best of the season, and I'm happy for Bekir Ä°rtegün.''
The Yellow Canaries, with 13 points from 5 matches, have qualified for the last 32 of the competition.
