DAVID ALABA Doubtful To Face Kazakhstan
Austria international of Nigeria heritage David Alaba is doubtful for for Austria's World Cup qualifying game with Kazakhstan on October 12 and the second match four days later, writes sport10.at.

The Bayern Munich wing-back is recovering from an injury sustained in pre-season against Napoli.

Austria Coach Marcel Koller has omitted Alaba's name from a squad of 23 players called up to face Kazakhstan. Instead, the 20 - year -old has been placed on standby and can be called on short notice to join the squad.

''It was very difficult for us if we should convene him or not, since he has not played a game. I then phoned Jupp Heynckes and we have agreed that we have David as yet at Bayern,'' Koller was quoted as saying by sport10.at.

Austria tackles Kazakhstan in Astana next Friday. The game would be played on an artificial surface, and it is feared the pitch won't be suitable for Alaba after a long spell on the sidelines.
