Paganini reveals the club genuinely interested in Lookman amid rumours linking forward with Man Utd
Published: November 22, 2024Italian football expert Paolo Paganini has confirmed that French giants Paris Saint-Germain retain an interest in Ademola Lookman amid rumours linking the Atalanta forward with a move to Manchester United.
It has been claimed that the Red Devils are monitoring the situation of Lookman, whose contract with Atalanta expires at the end of next season.
However, nothing concrete has emerged yet as the Premier League side have not initiated talks with the player or his representatives.
Lookman had been linked with a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in August but the coach of the capital club, Luis Enrique chose to fill the gap left by Gonçalo Ramos' injury with players already on the team.
Given that Atalanta are still competing on three fronts—Serie A, the Champions League, and the Coppa Italia—it is unlikely that the Nerazzurri will approve the sale of the Nigeria international during the January transfer window.
Commenting on the future of Lookman, Paolo Paganini told Tuttomercatoweb via Calcio Atalanta: "Lookman? I understand that PSG's interest has remained intact .
"He is on the Parisian club's shopping list, it remains to be seen whether Atalanta can let go of someone like Lookman in January, even if I know of an Atalanta survey on Raspadori , who is a possible parachute".
Meanwhile, Lookman is expected to receive the green light to face Parma on Saturday night, having pulled out of the Nigeria squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Rwanda due to minor injury.
He has picked up where he left off last season, tallying thirteen goal involvements (8 goals, 5 assists) in fourteen matches so far in 2024-2025.
