Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report with certainty that Chelsea academy product Dubem Eze and exciting Ipswich Town midfielder Abube Onuchukwu have been handed call-ups to Nigeria's U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, ahead of international friendlies in February 2025.
Egypt will host seven-time African champions Nigeria in a two-legged clash in Cairo, with the first encounter scheduled for February 25 and the second for February 27.
Less than a month after it was announced that Eze and Onuchukwu committed their international futures to Nigeria instead of England, those upstairs at the Nigeria Football Federation have responded by rewarding the two midfielders with their first-ever invitations to the Nigeria national team.
Bolton Wanderers starlet Eze and Ipswich Town U21 star Onuchukwu have been instructed to arrive at the Flying Eagles team camp; Egyptian National Team Hotel (FIFAGoal Project) 6th October City Cairo, Egypt on February 23, 2025.
The two dual-national players are scheduled to return to their respective clubs on February 28, a day after the second friendly against Egypt.
Predominantly an attacking midfielder, Eze, who was on the books of Chelsea for eight years, can add flexibility to the Flying Eagles squad as he has the ability to play in various attacking positions such as left and right wing.
Onuchukwu has been described as a versatile left-footed player who can play a number of positions including left midfield, central midfielder and left centre-back.
Hoping to make the final squad for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Eze and Onuchukwu will work hard to impress Flying Eagles coach Aliyu Zubairu during the training camp.
