Cremonese set asking price of N4b for Rangers target Dessers
Published: June 06, 2023Relegated Italian Serie A club Cremonese have named their asking price for Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers.
Cremonese broke their transfer record for an incoming transfer last summer when Dessers joined from Racing Genk for a fee of €6.5m.
According to the online edition of The Daily Mail, Cremonese want to recoup more than the fee they paid Genk for his services, and have set a £7 million price tag (approximately N4 billion in Nigerian currency) for the 28-year-old.
As earlier reported, Scottish Premiership giants Rangers have tabled their first bid for the striker but it was deemed insufficient by Cremonese.
Dessers has been lined up as a potential replacement for the departed Alfredo Morelos as Rangers seek to strengthen the squad ahead of next season and wrestle the Scottish league title from rivals, Celtic.
Rangers manager, Michael Beale is also an admirer of the former Genk forward which explains the substantial interest in him.
Dessers netted ten goals in all competitions in 2022-2023 including seven in the colours of Cremonese.
The Italian side have been relegated to the Serie B which will affect their finances and they want to get as much as possible from the sale of the striker who has been capped four times by Nigeria.
