Published: February 01, 2023Pro League table toppers Racing Genk quickly signed a replacement for Paul Onuachu on transfer deadline day in Belgium.
The Limburg club have strengthened their attack with the acquisition of Tolu Arokodare, who last wore the colours of French Ligue 2 club Amiens.
A center forward by trade, Arokodare ended his association with Latvian Virsliga team Valmiera after putting pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal with Racing Genk.
Arokodare, who spent the formative years of his career with Nigerian grassroots clubs Flying Sports Academy and Box2Box FC, notched 43 goals in total for his previous European clubs.
2014-2015 Belgian champions KAA Gent also completed the deadline day signing of Nigerian center forward Gift Emmanuel Orban from newly promoted Norwegian Eliteserien club Stabæk Fotball.
Orban put himself in the shop window after a banner season at Stabæk, for whom he scored nineteen goals in all competitions over the course of the 2022 season.
The 20-year-old has signed a multi-year contract with KAA Gent.
