Former Flying Eagles captain Justice Christopher slumps, dies at his hotel complex

Reports reaching allnigeriasoccer.com indicate that former Flying Eagles captain Justice Christopher slumped and died at his hotel complex in Jos, Plateau State early on Wednesday morning.
Christopher, a key member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, was reportedly suffering from mild hypertension but it was nothing too serious.
A defensive midfielder during his playing days, he was very lively throughout yesterday and ate alongside his friends, according to Stephen Lokrit who was with him throughout the night.
The 40-year-old was rushed to the hospital, where he was confirmed to be dead.
He was a fringe member of the Nigeria team to the 2002 Africa Cup of Nations, featuring in only the third place playoff against Mali.
In a career spanning more than fifteen years, Christopher turned out for Katsina United, Sharks and Bendel Insurance and his European clubs include Antwerp FC (Belgium), Levski Sofia (Bulgaria), Trelleborgs FF (Sweden), Alania Vladikavkaz (Russia) and Herfølge BK (Denmark).
