'People think I look 30 years old' - Former Watford striker Success on why his age is being questioned
Published: March 08, 2022
Former Watford striker Isaac Success has explained what makes some people doubt his age.
Before making his name at Granada, the BJ Foundation product first came into prominence nine years ago at the 2013 U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he won the top scorer award with seven goals.
He was the x-factor player in the Golden Eaglets squad to the U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, only for him to suffer an injury in the second group match vs Sweden, so the focus shifted to his rival Kelechi Iheanacho.
Success believes his real age is being questioned because he has been on the scene for a decade in addition to his physical appearance.
The 26-year-old was originally signed by Udinese after the 2013 U17 World Cup in exchange for 400, 000 euros before he was loaned out to Granada.
Speaking to our colleagues at Estadio Deportivo, Success stated : "People always think I'm older, but I'm the last of my brothers. I started playing very early, also with the national team in 2013, at the U-17 World Cup in Dubai.
"I started very young, but I have a big and strong body, that's why people think I look like I'm 30 years old."
Four-cap Nigeria international Success ended his five-year association with Watford last summer and was re-signed by his first European club Udinese.
He has not done badly since returning to Udinese, with a goal involvement of seven (2 goals, 5 assists) in seventeen outings with nine of those appearances off the bench in the Serie A.
