Two Golden Eaglets players Ibrahim Said and Peter Olawale could be in the running for the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup Goal of the Tournament.
The official website of FIFA has selected the ten most eye-catching goals scored in the group stage, with Said and Olawale's efforts making the shortlist.
Dabo Babes attacking midfielder Said netted a hat-trick as the Golden Eaglets came from behind to beat Ecuador 3-2 a week ago and his second goal was the pick of the bunch, a curling shot from outside the box.
On his competitive debut for Nigeria, Olawale equalised in the 21st minute with a terrific curled, left-footed shot from the edge of the box that beat Australia goalkeeper Adam Pavlesic.
Strikes from Senegalese, Brazilian, Haitian, Japanese, French, Italian, Hungarian and Argentinian players have also been shortlisted.
123 goals were scored in 36 games in the group stage and Said is the joint second-highest goalscorer with three goals along with Degnand Gnonto (Italy), Efraín Alvarez (Mexico) and Pape Sarr (Senegal).
