Team spirit and understanding will help Ecuador achieve their goals at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup as they get set to play against Nigeria in their second Group B match of the tournament on Tuesday night.
Both Nigeria and Ecuador have begun their campaigns at the U-17 World Cup with wins - Nigeria defeated Hungary 4-2 while Ecuador overcame Australia 2-1.
Joan Lopez who is the first choice goalkeeper and captain of the South American team spoke to FIFA.com on how the team's chemistry have propelled them thus far.
"We have all been working together within the national team for a year now in this cycle," Lopez revealed to FIFA.com.
"We all have an excellent understanding of each other and are prepared for whatever comes our way," the keeper further stated confidently.
Ecuador were hosts of the tournament in 1995 where the then defending champions, Nigeria, crashed out in the quarterfinals losing 2-0 to Oman.
The Nigeria versus Ecuador match will kick off at 9pm Nigerian time.
