Photo Confirmation: Nigerian Winger Joseph Hungbo Goes Pro With The Eagles
Published: July 03, 2018Very promising Nigerian winger Joseph Hungbo, 18, has penned his first professional contract with English Premier League side Crystal Palace.
Last month, the Premier League published on its official website that Hungbo has been offered a fresh contract, and the player has confirmed that he will be on the books of the Eagles for the forthcoming season, having accepted the offer.
Hungbo took to Instagram on Monday to share the good news with his 2,306 followers, stating : ''Delighted to sign my first professional contract with @cpfc The hard work starts now⚽️''.
Last season, he was the stand-in skipper for Crystal Palace U18 squad and tallied 14 goals in 29 appearances for that age-group while he netted one goal in seven games for the U23s.
He was recognized for his outstanding performances for Crystal Palace youth teams in 2016 after winning the club’s Under 9-16 Player of the Year award.
It is believed Crystal Palace offered the teenager his first professional contract in their bid to
ward off interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, who had expressed interest
in his signature.
