Who Is Layton Ndukwu? Five Facts About Nigerian Teen In Leicester City 18 Vs Spurs
Published: May 13, 2018Nigerian whizkid Layton Ndukwu is in line for a Premier League debut after he was named in the match day squad for Leicester City's final game of the season against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Here are five facts we know about one of the most talented players of Nigerian descent on the books of a Premier League club.
1) Born September 7, 1998, Ndukwu is Nigeria's most loyal player at Leicester City as he has spent the last ten years of his career at the club. He joined the Foxes at the age of nine.
2) The winger is a very passionate supporter of the Super Eagles and celebrated their triumph at the 2013 African Cup of Nations, saying he's proud to be half-Nigerian.
3) Ndukwu knows how to score beautiful goals, his strike from the half-way line against Liverpool in December 2016 won him the U23 Premier League Goal of the Season for the 2016-2017 campaign.
4) He scored a perfect hat-trick for England U17s in a 4-1 win over Cyprus in a European Championship qualifier in October 2014, has also represented England U16s.
5) The 19-year-old was heavily courted by De Graafschap in the January transfer window but Leicester City blocked the move.
