What Next For Chelsea Midfielders Of Nigerian Descent After Winning The League?
With the Chelsea U18s having capped off a near-perfect season with a title triumph in the Premier League South, many things could considerably be about to change.

Nigerian starlets Faustino Anjorin and Tariq Uwakwe were among the star performers of their glorious campaign and must have bolstered their glowing reputations with their displays for the Joddy Morris-led team.

For Uwakwe, since signing his first professional contract with Chelsea back in 2016, the prodigy has been one of the stand-out players in the U18 ranks.

It could look right if he is afforded first team football with a Championship team to continue his development before making the step up to fight for a place as a senior squad member at Stamford Bridge.

Talent-wise, he is a handful for opposing players, has a wide range of football playing ability and can pop up with some eye-catching goals.

Uwakwe would hardly look out of place with most modest top-tier teams in England irrespective of his young age.

His compatriot, Faustino Anjorin might be two years younger but has already been rated as 'one of the best finishers' among the Chelsea youth teams.

He might have felt hard done by of not playing a more prominent role for the team in the UEFA Youth League on their run to the final but more opportunities would surely come his way when he could take up a more pivotal mantle of leadership with the club.

While it is no secret that both players are well thought of and highly-rated at the club, it is worth noting that Super Eagles, Alex Iwobi made his Arsenal first team debut aged just 19 while we have yet seen another Nigerian teenager in Michael Obafemi turn out for Southampton in the Premier League this season.
