Luis Enrique Demands N7.5 Billion A Year To Coach Iwobi & Co At Arsenal
Published: April 25, 2018Arsene Wenger will bid farewell to Nigeria international Alex Iwobi and other Arsenal first-teamers at the end of the season and one of the candidates tipped to replace the Frenchman is Luis Enrique.
According to the Mirror UK, the former Barcelona coach is the front-runner for the job as Arsenal's head of football relation Raul Sanllehi worked together with him at the Spanish club.
But the stumbling block is that Enrique is demanding 15 million pounds a year wages (around N7.5 billion), same amount Jose Mourinho receives at Manchester United, before accepting to coach the Gunners.
The wages are much higher than the amount Wenger is being paid at Arsenal but Sanllehí has assured that it is an obstacle that the club can overcome.
Enrique served Barcelona with distinction, winning La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League, Fifa Club World Cup during his time with the club.
The other managerial candidates being considered are Leonardo Jardim, Brendan Rodgers, Joachim Loew, Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira.
