Man Utd Legend Schmeichel : Second Position Is Good But Mourinho Doesn't Like It
Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel is impressed by the work of  Jose Mourinho since he took over the managerial reins at the Red Devils but noted that the Portuguese would be disappointed if the club finish second in the Premier League this season.

Mourinho has been criticized that his teams plays boring football but Denmark's most capped player has defended him, saying he can up the ante citing United's 3-2 win at Manchester City last weekend as an example.

''I think second place, considering the results of the past years, is good. But I know that Mourinho does not like it. He tries to introduce the spirit of winning into his players,'' said Schmeichel to championat.com.

''The turning point in the game with City was very revealing for me. Fans can criticize Mourinho for the fact that the team play boring football, but I have a different point of view. I believe that Jose again raises the level of the team at a given height.''

The goalkeeper added : ''I'm patient and I can wait five years for a new title in the Premier League. You know how many titles we had.

''I agree that over time the results will have to be supported by a certain style of the game, but it is impossible to achieve both. I believe that Mourinho is on the right track.''

Peter Schmeichel spent eight years at Manchester United and won five Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the UEFA Champions League, one League Cup and four Community Shields during his time with the club.
