Club Legend Nicky Butt Says Kehinde Will Not Make It At Manchester United If....
Published: April 07, 2018Manchester United legend Nicky Butt does not see Nigerian midfielder Tosin Kehinde and other U23 players making it at the Red Devils if they do not force their way into the first team by the time they clock 21.
This is a rude awakening to Kehinde and Matthew Olosunde as both players are yet to figure for the first team since arriving the Old Trafford outfit and they would have celebrated their 21st birthday at the end of next season.
It is correct that that the talented players have trained with United's first team this season, which is different from making the match day squads for competitive fixtures.
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands Kehinde's minders claim to have held talks with the powers that be at Manchester United over the midfielder joining the first team for pre-season training in July but the club have offered no assurances at the moment.
''The three biggest developers in football are Southampton, Tottenham and United. Southampton aren't in the league,'' Butt told the print edition of The Times.
''Tottenham are near the bottom and we're near the bottom. That speaks for itself.
''If players are not in or around the first team by 20, 21, they won't make it here.''
Tosin Kehinde came off the bench in the second half in United's 4-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League 2 on Friday evening, while Olosunde was not even in the match day squad.
