Rundown of how players of Nigerian descent fared in the English Premier League on Saturday.

A goal from Alex Iwobi sent Arsenal to the summit of the table following a 3-1 win versus Stoke City at the Emirates. The Nigeria international came off the bench in the 69th minute, then netted his first goal in the top-flight this season six minutes later.

England U21 international Chuba Akpom is still recovering from a back problem and wasn’t considered for selection by Arsene Wenger.

Jordon Ibe was an unused substitute as Bournemouth were beaten 3-2 by Burnley at Turf Moor. This is the first time the winger has not been involved in a Premier League match for the Cherries when fit.

Injured Moses Odubajo missed Hull City’s entertaining 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace at KCOM Stadium. The right fullback is not expected to return to action until April 2017.

Victor Anichebe started and played the full game as Sunderland were thrashed 3-0 by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. Teammates Joel Asoro and Josh Maja were in action for the U23s on Friday and didn’t make the 18-man squad.

In the early kickoff, Italy international Stefano Okaka struck his first goals for Watford in their 3-2 victory over Ross Barkley’s Everton. The Hornets number 33 scored in the 36th and 64th minute and was replaced with nine minutes remaining.

While Barkley was introduced in the 64th minute, Odion Ighalo and Isaac Success were unused substitutes.

Kelechi Iheanacho starts for Manchester City against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. England youth international Tosin Adarabioyo (City) and Ahmed Musa (Leicester) are on the bench.
