Arsenal Starlet Iwobi Is The New Mesut Ozil; Has More Assists Than German In 2016
Published: September 20, 2016Alex Iwobi has been firing on all cylinders since he broke into the first team of Arsenal in the second half of last season.
In 2016, the Nigeria international has provided more assists in the Premier League- five in total- than any other player at the Gunners, including Mesut Ozil, who is well known for his eye for a killer pass.
The Germany star has three assists to his name in 2016 whereas Iwobi notched helpers in games against West Ham (2), Liverpool and Hull City (2).
If his assist in the Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain is included in the mix, the former England youth international has bagged four assists in all competitions, still making him the Gunners assists king so far this season.
Having said that, Alex Iwobi should be more decisive in front of goal as two of his assists were more or less rebounded efforts slotted home by Alexis Sanchez.
