Moses Suits Up For The 50th Time, Ejaria Benched, Mikel Missing As Chelsea Lose To Liverpool
Published: September 16, 2016Super Eagles creator Victor Moses suited up for the 50th time in a
Chelsea shirt in their 2-1 loss to Liverpool on game week five in the
Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
The 25-year-old achieved the milestone when he came off the bench in the 83rd minute, replacing Brazil star Willian.
Liverpool were victorious at Stamford Bridge for the second year running, thanks to first half goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson.
There was a much better second half from the Blues and Diego Costa’s remarkable start to the season continued, with his fifth goal in the 62nd minute, but the onslaught expected didn’t happen as Liverpool defended well and were dogged.
Former Golden Eaglets trainee, Ovie Ejaria, made the Reds 18-man squad but remained on the bench, while Nigeria skipper John Obi Mikel literally watched the game from the stands.
