Akin Odimayo Grabs Winner As Reading Beat Spurs In Seven-Goal Thriller
Published: September 10, 2016Tottenham Hotspur lost 4-3 to Reading in the U18 Premier League at Hogwood Park Training Ground (Finchampstead, Berkshire) on Saturday afternoon, with two Nigerian players finding the back of the net.
The home team had Ademola Shokunbi and Akin Odimayo in their starting line-up, while Timothy Eyoma, Keanan Bennetts and Aramide Oteh started for Spurs.
The scoreboard read 3-1 in favour of the Royals until the 52nd minute when Oteh netted from the penalty spot, then Griffiths restored parity five minutes later.
Akin Odimayo came to the rescue of Reading on 62 minutes with the game-winner, converting from close range after a free-kick was swung in.
Shokunbi was replaced in the 71st minute and England youth international Bennetts subbed out with 12 minutes remaining.
