Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain emerge as suitors for Arsenal's teenage Nigerian striker
Published: May 03, 2024After recently being linked with German giants Bayern Munich, Arsenal's teenage Danish-born Nigerian striker, Chido Obi-Martin is reportedly attracting interest from two other European powerhouses..
Football Transfers claims that the Gunners are fighting to keep hold of the Denmark U17 international, amid interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
The report added that Arsenal are planning to include Obi-Martin in their USA Tour squad for pre-season preparations in their bid to fend off interest from Real Madrid and PSG.
As exclusively reported by allnigeriasoccer.com in April, Arsenal have offered the prolific striker a scholarship and professional contract ahead of next season but nothing has been signed at the moment, putting his future in doubt considering the fact that he has less than two months left on his schoolboy registration.
The three European clubs - Bayern, Real Madrid and PSG - can offer the Danish-Nigerian wonderkid a professional contract straightaway, whereas Premier League clubs are prohibited from offering pro deals until players reach the age of seventeen.
Real Madrid and PSG are monitoring the situation of Obi-Martin with a view to a potential swoop in the summer transfer window.
He has made a splash in the U18 Premier League this season, notching 28 goals in sixteen matches, including a seven-goal haul against Norwich City last weekend.
Obi-Martin is looked after by popular Nigerian agent Emeka Obasi, who has close links with clubs in France and Germany.
