West Ham loanee eligible for Super Falcons becomes provisionally cap-tied to England
Published: November 27, 2024The English Football Association are now officially in pole position for the services of West Ham United-owned striker Princess Ademiluyi, who is eligible to play international football for Nigeria's Super Falcons, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Wearing the number 16 on the back of her jersey, the Charlton Athletic player made her competitive debut for the Young Lionesses as they sealed a 2-1 win over the Republic of Türkiye in a European Women's Under-19 Championship qualifier on Wednesday afternoon at Stadion Miejski w Nysie.
Ademiluyi entered the game as a substitute in the 62nd minute, replacing Arsenal starlet Michelle Agyemang.
After an impressive debut against the Netherlands, highlighted by two assists in a 3-1 win at the Algarve Cup last month, the Gravesend native received another call-up to the England squad.
By playing in a competitive match for England youth team, Ademiluyi would need to file a one-time change of association if she decides to represent the Nigeria national teams in the future.
The English Football Association have gone on a massive recruitment drive over the last one year by convincing four Super Falcons-eligible players to represent the Young Lionesses.
Apart from Ademiluyi, Arsenal duo Omotara Junaid and Chiemela Ude, as well as Manchester City forward Jane Oboavwoduo, are provisionally cap-tied to England.
Two players named in the Super Falcons' latest squad for the upcoming friendly against France, Ashleigh Plumptre and Rinsola Babajide, previously represented England at youth level before switching their allegiance to Nigeria.
