Premier League: Danish-Nigerian forward suffers relegation with Sheffield United

Sheffield United's Denmark U21 international of Nigerian descent, William Osula will be playing in the English Football League next season if he does not move onto pastures new in the summer transfer window.

Sheffield United were among the three teams promoted at the end of last season, alongside Burnley and Luton Town. 

Chris Wilder's team knew only a victory could save them from relegation today as they were trailing seventeenth-placed Nottingham Forest by ten points heading into the fixture against Newcastle United. 

A 5-1 hammering suffered at the hands of Newcastle at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon mathematically sealed the Blades demotion to the Championship.with three games remaining.

The Mappies recovered from a goal down to register a comprehensive win, with Alexander Isak,  Bruno Guimarães and Callum Wilson getting on the scoresheet.

Anel Ahmedhodzic opened the scoring for Sheffield United inside five minutes, slotting home after getting on the end of a cross from Gustavo Hamer.

Sheffield United are the bottom team in the Premier League with sixteen points from 35 games, and have scored a paltry 34 goals while conceding ninety seven.

Osula played the last 23 minutes against Newcastle United, taking his total appearances in the Premier League to twenty one this season. 

Last October, the 20-year-old was rewarded with a new deal keeping him at Bramall Lane until the summer of 2027.
