Villarreal looking to cash in on Aston Villa-linked Super Eagles winger
Published: March 30, 2023
La Liga side Villarreal are reportedly planning to cash in on Nigeria national teamer Samuel Chukwueze in the summer.
Although the summer transfer window will open in June, the Yellow Submarine have negotiated a deal to bring in versatile Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Díaz on a free transfer.
Celta de Vigo loanee Denis Suárez is expected to complete his return to Villarreal when the window opens for business.
According to Spanish transfer market website Todofichajes, Villarreal are aiming to sell Chukwueze and Nico Jackson in order to bring money to the club.
Per the report, the Super Eagles winger has received offers from Premier League clubs.
It has been widely reported that Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is eyeing a reunion with his former pupil Chukwueze.
The 23-year-old is valued in the region of 30 million euros (£26.5m) by Villarreal, which is an affordable sum for Aston Villa considering that their record purchase is Emiliano Buendía who was acquired for a fee of 33m pounds from Norwich City in 2021.
Chukwueze has provided 35 goals and 31 assists in 195 appearances for Villarreal and he is under contract with the 2021 Europa League winners until June 30, 2024.
