Transfer guru reveals why Man Utd are pushing to sign Osimhen, price tag could increase
Published: March 29, 2023
Speaking in a question and answer session broadcast on Onamp website, Fabrizio Romano has shed light on why Manchester United are actively seeking to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer.
The Nigeria international is one of the most in-form strikers in the world at club level, with an impressive 25 goals in 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
Romano revealed that Manchester United are considering Osimhen as a potential reinforcement because they are in the market for a physical center forward and the Napoli man has all the attributes needed to play in that position.
The Italian transfer market guru added that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is also a player of interest to Manchester United but it will be difficult to sign the England captain as the north London club are looking to extend his contract which expires at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Romano admitted that he's unsure of Osimhen's price tag but thinks it's between €100m to €120m, which could increase if Napoli advance to the Champions League final and the Nigerian scores two to three goals.
Napoli have an easy route to the Champions League final as they have avoided potential clashes with holders Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
Romano has predicted that Osimhen will be bidding farewell to Napoli in July, or maybe August 2023 if president Aurelio De Laurentiis sanctions his departure.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner has approximately two years left on his contract with Napoli.
