The PSG superstar played a one-two with Paqueta on the edge of the box before rounding the keeper and putting the ball into the roof of the net.
Bruno Petkovic equalized in the 117th minute when he swept the ball home with the help of a slight deflection to take the game to penalties..
Croatia converted all their four kicks taken in the shootout, while Rodrygo's kick was saved and Marquinhos hit the post.
Nigerian fans took to social media to heap plaudits on Croatia glovesman Livakovic for his outstanding performance during the game.
Some fans are of the opinion that he has been the standout goalkeeper of the 2022 World Cup and others urged Chelsea to make a move for his signature.
