5 goals in 6 games: Obi-Martin continues impressive start for Manchester United youth teams
Published: November 23, 2024Chido Obi-Martin continued his impressive form for Manchester United youth teams as he netted a goal in a 3-0 win over Leeds United in a Premier League Cup game played at the Carrington Training Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The prolific forward got on the scoresheet in the 44th minute, as Jayden Kamason delivered a cross into the penalty area for Amir Ibragimov, who set up the Denmark youth international of Nigerian descent for the finish.
He has now netted five goals in six all-competition appearances for United's youth teams.
Obi-Martin did not contribute to a goal in his U18s debut against Sunderland and his first development squad match against PSV Eindhoven in the Premier League International Cup.
Before today's fixture, Obi-Martin had not made an appearance in the Premier League Cup this term as he only completed his move on October 5, which was when they played their second match in the competition.
Jaydan Kamason opened the scoring for Adam Lawrence's side in today's fixture with a brilliant strike in the second minute of the game.
Four minutes before half-time, they grabbed the second; Ibragimov picked out James Scanlon at the far post, and the Gibraltar international put the ball home.
Placed alongside Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leicester City in Group B, Manchester United now lead the standings with six points and have scored eight goals, the most of any team in the group.
