Queens Park Rangers in talks with two Nigeria-eligible players over contract extension
Published: May 06, 2022Queens Park Rangers are in talks with Olamide Shodipo and Moses Odubajo over a contract extension which could see the two Nigeria-eligible players remain at the Championship club for at least one more season.
The Hoops revealed via their official website on Friday that six players will leave QPR at the end of the season following the expiry of their contracts, and added that conversations are continuing with Shodipo, Odubajo and three other players.
The two players of Nigerian descent, who are represented by the same agent Wasserman, have entered the last two months of their contract with Queens Park Rangers.
Shodipo has been on the books of Queens Park Rangers for a decade and has enjoyed loan spells at four different Football League clubs namely Port Vale, Colchester United, Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday.
Despite suffering an injury-plagued season, the former Republic of Ireland youth teamer played 21 matches for the Owls in 2021-2022.
Super Eagles hopeful Odubajo was signed by QPR last summer after impressing in a pre-season friendly against Manchester United.
Having started 23 games in the Championship this season, the London club are eager to retain the athletic fullback.
