Golden Eaglets-eligible Nwaneri continues to live up to the hype, scores again for Arsenal U18s
Published: April 24, 2022Ethan Nwaneri continues to live up to the hype as one of the most promising schoolboys in the Arsenal academy.
The Golden Eaglets-eligible attacking midfielder got on the scoresheet to help Arsenal beat Norwich City 2-0 in an U18 Premier League match on Saturday.
Nwaneri is not eligible to sign scholarship forms with the Gunners until the start of the 2023-2024 season but he's gradually being integrated into the U18 setup.
He made his debut in the U18 Premier League at the age of fourteen, against Reading on May 4, 2021 and has been called up for four matches this season, starting all of them.
Five days after starring for England U16s in an international friendly vs Portugal, he opened the scoring in the 41st minute in yesterday's win against the Canaries, before Oulad M'Hand added a second in the 89th minute.
The result means Arsenal are sixth in the U18 Premier League South table having picked up 42 points from 24 games.
Arsenal tackle Fulham in their next fixture and face north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on the final day of the season.
