FC Cartagena B 0 Brentford B 14 : Two players of Nigerian descent on target for Bees
Published: April 22, 2022Two Irish-Nigerian youngsters Val Adedokun and Ayodeji Sotona were on target for Brentford B as they demolished Spanish side FC Cartagena B 14-0 in a friendly staged at the Pinatar Arena on Thursday evening.
Cartagena B is the reserve team of FC Cartagena and compete in the Tercera División RFEF, equivalent of fifth-tier of Spanish football.
Adedokun, a summer signing from Dundalk, played the full game and was joined on the pitch by OGC Nice loanee Sotona with twenty four minutes remaining.
Brentford were seven goals to the good at the break, with one of the goals coming from Adedokun, who is a left-back by trade.
The Republic of Ireland U19 international slotted home the rebound from his initial effort being blocked to make it 3-0 after twelve minutes.
After replacing Trevitt, Sotona wrapped up the scoring at minute 87 when he fired home from the edge of the penalty area.
Brentford B, who were without England youth international Daniel Oyegoke, used the friendly against FC Cartagena B as part of their preparations for the final of the London Senior Cup on Tuesday, April 26.
