Man Utd academy product Kehinde reacts to appointment of Ten Hag as new manager
Published: April 21, 2022Manchester United confirmed the appointment
of Erik ten Hag as their new manager on Thursday to replace interim boss Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season, subject to work visa
requirements.
The Dutch football tactician, who has been coaching Eredivisie giants Ajax Amsterdam since 2017, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with the option to extend it another year.
Former Nigeria U23 invitee Tosin Kehinde was on the books of Manchester United for seven years before making a brave decision to move abroad in search of first team football in 2018.
The Randers number 10 played alongside current Red Devils first teamers Dean Henderson, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford during his time at the Manchester United academy.
Kehinde says the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager bodes well for the young players at the club.
He told allnigeriasoccer.com : "The appointment of Erik ten Hag is a good appointment, the teams he has coached at Ajax Amsterdam the years he has been there, they have all been reasonably young.
"I think that bodes well for the youth players at Manchester United."
Shola Shoretire, Maxi Oyedele and Habeeb Ogunneye are some of the players of Nigerian descent representing the academy teams of Manchester United.
