Watford provide Troost-Ekong, Kalu injury update ahead of trip to Manchester City
Published: April 21, 2022Through their official website, Watford have provided an injury update on their first team players before the Premier League clash against table toppers Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, April 23.
William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu were among the Hornets players who missed the defeat to Brentford due to fitness concerns.
Manager Roy Hodgson's defensive options for the clash against Manchester City have been strengthened with the club revealing on Thursday that the Super Eagles assistant captain has returned to full training, as he completes his recovery from a minor hamstring issue.
Troost-Ekong has not featured for Watford since going the distance against his former employers Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day.
The medical update from Vicarage Road added that Kalu is expected to train today, albeit with modified sessions.
Troost-Ekong has made sixteen appearances in the Premier League, while Kalu, a winter arrival from Bordeaux, is still waiting to make his full debut after two appearances off the bench.
Oghenekaro Etebo and Emmanuel Dennis are seemingly in good health and are both in contention to be named in the matchday squad against the Citizens.
