Super Eagles recovery training : Bonke, Sanusi receive treatment; Aribo jogs; Osimhen, Chukwueze excused
Published: March 27, 2022
Nigeria's interim manager Augustine Eguavoen has started working on his plans for the second leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff against the Black Stars of Ghana, with a recovery session held at the M.K.O Abiola National Stadium Abuja on Saturday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
There are doubts over the physical condition of Zaidu Sanusi and Innocent Bonke with both receiving treatment during the recovery session which lasted approximately one and a half hours.
Sanusi's leg was wrapped in ice and Bonke's injury he suffered in the second half of the goalless draw vs Ghana was wrapped too.
Apart from the Porto left-back and Lorient midfielder, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze didn't participate in any of the team's activities during the session.
Rangers duo Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun have no injury worries ahead of the visit of the Black Stars with both involved in the jogging exercises.
As is the norm, the players that started and played majority of the
game against Ghana had a light session while
the others that didn't taste action or entered as late substitutes were involved in a possession-based passing and finishing drills.
