'Get Iwobi on for Townsend' - Everton fans react to Lampard leaving Nigerian on bench FA Cup

Everton are into the quarterfinals of the Emirates FA Cup after beating non-leaguers Boreham Wood 2-0 at Goodison Park on Thursday night.

It was goalless at the break but the Toffees dominated possession and came close to scoring through Vitalii Mykolenko and Abdoulaye Doucoure. 

Salomon Rondon opened his Everton account with a near post finish just before the hour mark and netted the clincher in the 84th minute.

Manager Frank Lampard made six changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Manchester City, leaving Alex Iwobi as one of the senior players on the bench.

The Nigeria international has forced his way into the starting lineup under the legendary Chelsea midfielder but was presumably given a rest before the upcoming Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

With Everton struggling to break down the defence of Boreham Wood, many fans clamored for the introduction of Iwobi as replacement for Andros Townsend who was having a poor game but Lampard ignored the advice and left the former England international on the pitch for ninety minutes.
