Gabriel Osho goes the distance as Chelsea fight back to edge Luton Town 3-2 in FA Cup
Published: March 02, 2022World champions Chelsea came from behind on two occasions to earn a thrilling 3-2 win over Championship outfit Luton Town in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup at Kenilworth Road on Wednesday night.
Hatters top scorer Elijah Adebayo failed a fitness test and was omitted from the matchday squad along with Lagos-born winger Fred Onyedinma, but manager Nathan Jones selected Reading academy product Gabriel Osho in the starting lineup.
Reece Burke gave the home team the perfect start when a corner was powered in off the post in the second minute.
Saul latched onto a loose ball and finished into the bottom corner to level matters in the 27th minute but Harry Cornick finished calmly past Kepa to put Luton Town back into the lead five minutes before halftime.
Chelsea got their equaliser in the 68th minute thanks to a lovely finish from Timo Werner, his seventh of the season, and they were in control of the game with 12 minutes remaining as Romelu Lukaku tapped in after a lovely cross from Werner.
In what was his first career appearance against Premier League opposition, Osho went the distance.
