Arsenal loan out Nigerian-born midfielder to foreign club

Nigerian-born midfielder Tim Akinola will be spending the remainder of the 2021-2022 campaign on loan at a foreign club, allnigeriasoccer.com has been told.

The news was first broken by Arsenal youth team expert Jeorge Bird on his website and allnigeriasoccer.com has had it confirmed from sources close to the deal.

It was suggested that the Gunners wanted him to continue his development with a Football League club last summer but the player and his minders have been able to convince the Emirates Stadium outfit to sanction a foreign move this month.

Akinola recently changed his agent to Next Generation Agency, suggesting that a transfer was in the offing.

The 20-year-old has been one of the influential players for Arsenal U23s since his arrival at the north London club from Huddersfield Town but has opted to go out on loan in his search for first team football.

This season, Akinola has appeared in fifteen matches for Arsenal's development squad in the Premier League 2 and Papa John's Trophy, and was in action for 1,105 minutes.
