Brentford's Super Eagles midfielder reaches career high market value; Ekong & Awoniyi too
Published: December 24, 2021Transfermarkt has recently updated the market values of players in the Premier League and German Bundesliga.
The change affected Brentford star Frank Onyeka positively with the central midfielder now valued at ten million euros (approximately N4.65 billion) - a career high for the former FC Midtjylland man.
That is the same fee the Bees coughed up to sign him from the Danish Superliga side in July 2021.
Onyeka has been involved in eighteen matches in all competitions since his switch to England, logging 898 minutes.
The Nigeria national teamer is the seventh most expensive Brenford player, ranks ninth among all players classed as Nigerians and is the 249th most valuable player in the Premier League.
The jury might be out on Watford's Super Eagles center back William Troost-Ekong following some indifferent performances for club and country this season but he has reached an all-time high market value at five million euros.
Troost-Ekong is the ninth most valuable Hornets player and ranks 23rd when it comes to Nigerian players.
Former Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi has also reached his highest market value at a new valuation of fifteen million euros.
Prior to the update on December 22, the 2013 U17 World Cup winner was valued at eight million euros
Awoniyi has scored ten goals in domestic matches for Union Berlin so far this season, and has four goals to his name in European competition.
