Newcastle United scout runs the rule over five players of Nigerian descent
Premier League club Newcastle United reportedly posted a scout to monitor proceedings at Kenilworth Road in Bedfordshire during the Championship clash between Luton Town and Fulham last weekend.

According to Chronicle Live, a top Magpies scout watched on as Fulham were held to a 1-1 draw by Luton Town.

The scout in attendance did not look at one specified target but it is being speculated that Elijah Adebayo would have caught the eye after netting the equaliser.

Sixteen minutes into the second half, the Fulham academy product scored against his previous employers when he headed home after getting on the end of a superb free-kick delivery, cancelling out Aleksandar Mitrovic's first half opener in the process.

The 6ft 4in striker is averaging a goal every other game in the Championship, notching 10 goals and one assist in 1,649 minutes of football spread across twenty matches.

Other players of Nigerian descent who showed off to the Newcastle United talent spotter are Tosin Adarabioyo and Josh Onomah (both Fulham) and Luton pair Fred Onyedinma and Gabriel Osho.

Of the aforementioned Nigeria-eligible players, only Adarabioyo and Onomah have Premier League experience under their belts.
