Ndidi not among seven Leicester players who have tested positive for Covid or ill
Published: December 08, 2021Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers revealed during Wednesday's pre-match press conference that seven players will not be available for selection against Napoli in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
The seven unnamed players are not at the disposal of the Northern Irish football tactician due to a combination of illness and Covid-19 related absence.
"We've obviously had a number of people, staff and players that haven't traveled," Rodgers told reporters.
"We've had some positive cases, and also some people are generally not well, so we haven't taken the risk"
Allnigeriasoccer.com can report with certainty that Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi was in Italy with the Leicester City squad as at 2023 hours on Wednesday evening.
It is a foregone conclusion that the holding midfielder will play a part against Napoli given the absences of several players.
Ndidi has taken part in three Europa League matches so far this season and missed the away games against Legia Warsaw and Spartak Moscow due to suspension and injury respectively.
The Foxes head into the fixture top of Group C with eight points, one more than Spartak Moscow and Napoli, and two ahead of bottom team Legia Warsaw.
