Arsenal striker of Nigerian descent nominated for PL 2 Player of the Month
Arsenal striker of Nigerian descent Folarin Balogun has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month for November 2021, informs the official website of the Premier League.

The England U21 international went the distance in all three matches played by the Gunners in the division last month as Kevin Betsy's team picked up four points from nine.

Balogun continued his rich vein of goalscoring form by finding the back of the net in league matches against Leicester City, Blackburn Rovers and Derby County (3).

The 20-year-old also got his name on the scoresheet against Plymouth Argyle in the Papa John's Trophy.

The Hale End Academy product is up against Ziyad Larkeche (Fulham), Sonny Perkins (West Ham United), Luke Plange (Derby County), Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (Crystal Palace), Jan Rowe (Norwich City), Thierry Small (Southampton) and Harvey White (Tottenham Hotspur) for the monthly accolade.

The shortlist has been selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches.

Aston Villa's Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka won the award for September 2021.
