Aged 19, the center back arrived The Owls as a free agent in the summer following his release by AFC Wimbledon.
The physical defender earned a contract with the English second-tier club after impressing whilst on trial.
Sheffield Wednesday are open to the idea of loaning Urhoghide to further his development.
He trained with Nigeria's Olympic National Team in 2019 ahead of an U23 AFCON qualifier against Libya.
