On matchday eighteen in the French Ligue 1, FC Girondins de Bordeaux welcome Strasbourg to the Stade Matmut-Atlantique, starting from 1500 hours, and two Nigeria internationals are in line to feature for the home team.
Striker Josh Maja and winger Samuel Kalu were both included in Bordeaux's 19-man provisional squad announced by manager Paulo Sousa on Saturday and one player must drop out of the squad before the start of the game.
Having said that, the two attack-minded players have made the matchday squads for the last eight league matches, with former Sunderland star Maja starting the last four.
According to information from Bordeaux's official webpage, five Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Everton, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Burnley, have posted scouts to watch the top players on both teams.
Talent spotters working for Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach will also monitor the game; Forientina, Atalanta and the Italian Federation are also interested in the meeting; scouts representing Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Séville FC, Deportivo de Alaves and Deportivo de Leganes have asked for match tickets.
It is worth noting that Maja is represented by Emeka Obasi, who also handles the affairs of Alex Iwobi and the English-based intermediary of Nigerian descent has close links with Arsenal, Everton and Borussia Dortmund.
Maja has been involved in 6 goals (4 goals, 2 assists) in his last three league matches, more than any other Nigerian player in the top five European Leagues.
