Former Super Eagles invitee Anthony Nwakaeme has been named to the Turkish Super Lig Team of the Week for matchday twelve by football statistics experts Whoscored.
The Trabzonspor winger cum striker was on target and provided an assist in Trabzonspor's impressive 3-0 road win against Ankaragucu on Saturday.
Nwakaeme has carved out a reputation as a decisive player for Trabzonspor and ended last season as the only Nigerian player playing for a topflight European team to reach double figures for goals and assists, scoring 10 and setting up ten others.
And there's every chance he could replicate that feat in the 2019-2020 campaign, having netted three times and provided four assists after 12 games.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Nwakaeme was deployed as a left midfielder and was awarded a rating of 8.1 out of ten, just 0.1 more than his compatriot Obi Mikel who narrowly missed out on the Team of the Week.
Against Ankaragucu, he made 49 passes with 83.7 percent accuracy, played three shots two of which were on target, made one key pass and completed two dribbles in a fine display by the 30-year-old.
Trabzonspor, who face champions Galatasaray next weekend, are currently second on the Super Lig ladder with 22 points.
