AFCONQ : Four Takeaways From Super Eagles Big Win Against Lesotho
Published: November 17, 2019Izuchukwu Okosi present the four takeaways from the 4-2 win by Nigeria over Lesotho In Sunday's 2021 AFCON qualifier against Lesotho.
1. The Super Eagles Dominated
The match was not as easy as the 4-2 may have suggested but it was nonetheless an encouraging performance by the Super Eagles who pressed high after conceding early.
2.Rohr Stuck With Tried And Tested
Daniel Akpeyi started again after playing versus Benin Republic meaning no competitive debut for Maduka Okoye. Bonaventure Dennis also didn't play in both fixtures.
3. The Captain's Band
William Troost-Ekong started as captain before Ahmed Musa came off the bench in the second half.
As soon as Musa made to come in, Ekong quickly passed the ball to him in the halfway line rather than wait for him to enter the fray. Hopefully that has no deeper meaning than it looked.
4. Fans' Support
Despite the Eagles trailing, the supporters club drummed and sang all evening which was heartwarming.
