'You Are Not The Best Team In Africa Despite Beating Brazil' - Rohr Warns Super Eagles Not To Underestimate Lesotho
Published: November 17, 2019Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has issued a warning to his players not to underestimate Lesotho when both teams face off in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Setsoto Stadium (Maseru) on Sunday evening.
Super Eagles players will be brimming with confidence heading into today's fixture after holding a star-studded Brazil side containing Neymar, Dani Alves, Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus to a 1-1 draw in a friendly last month.
But Rohr has made it clear that they are not the best team in Africa despite their impressive showing against the five-time world champions and third ranked country in the FIFA ranking.
Speaking to reporters including allnigeriasoccer.com, the German coach stated : ''I am calm because they played well in the second half against Benin, but you never know in the next match (against Lesotho), they must stay humble.
''Like I told them after the Brazil game, don't believe you are the best team in Africa because you held Brazil to a draw, there's still a lot of work to do.
''I am not excited, I'll be excited if we win the AFCON for example.''

Nigeria came from behind to beat Benin 2-1 in their opening match of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers while Lesotho earned a valuable point on the road against Sierra Leone.
