Heracles Almelo star Cyriel Dessers has been named Whoscored.com's Player of the Week in the Dutch Eredivisie following the conclusion of the matchday thirteen fixtures.
The Leuven-born striker, who is willing to represent the Super Eagles, was the star of the show as Heracles Almelo humiliated VVV Venlo 6-1 at Stadion ErveAsito (Almelo) on Saturday.
Dessers scored a 26-minute hat-trick in the second half and provided the assists for the goals scored by Alexander Merkel and Mauro JĂșnior in the 23rd and 60th minute respectively.
The 24-year-old's performance against VVV Venlo landed him a perfect 10/10 rating.
He played a game-high eight shots of which six were on target, made three key passes, was the top dribbler (4), had 48 touches and made one tackle over the course of ninety minutes vs VVV Venlo.
Joining Dessers in the Team of the Week is another Nigeria-eligible player Chidera Ejike, who netted both goals for SC Heerenveen in a 2-1 win against Sparta Rotterdam, which took his tally to 7 goals in 14 matches across all competitions for the season.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Dessers was one of the two strikers and Ejike was deployed as a left midfielder.
