All Nigeria Soccer's Izuchukwu Okosi presents the six of the best performing Nigerian players in European leagues for the month of September 2019.
These Nigerian stars either scored, assisted others to score, put up great defensive displays or were duly recognized for their individual performances in the month under review.
1. Victor Osimhen (Lille, France)
Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has notched up six goals in six Ligue 1 games thus far Lille but only two has been scored in the month of September from five league games (plus one international goal for Nigeria in friendly versus Ukraine).
Osimhen has proven to be a capable replacement for Nicolas Pepe and is bound to score more for club and country.
2. Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City, England)
Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi is the midfielder with the highest tackles per game across Europe with 5.5% of the Foxes' 23 according to statistical website, Whoscored.com.
The former Genk star then capped his September form with 'a striker's goal' a great turn and even better finish, the last of the match, as Leicester thrashed Newcastle United 5-0 on Sunday 30 September.
3. Peter Olayinka (Slavia Prague, Czech Republic)
Super Eagles new invitee Peter Olayinka scored in Slavia Prague's 1-1 draw against Inter Milan on Match day 1 of the UEFA Champions League.
Olayinka also scored the winning goal for Czech club Slavia Prague as they defeated Mlada Boleslav 1-0 on Saturday at the Sinobo Stadium which was his third of the season. Olayinka struck in the 14th minute to give Prague the three points.
4. Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal, Spain)
Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze capped his September for club (and country) with an inspiring performance against Real Betis on Saturday.
Brought off the bench with the scoreline at 1-1 Chukwueze assisted and scored the last goal in a 5-1 mauling.
The former FIFA U-17 World Cup winner in 2015 was also in the month of September named in the Golden Boy 2019 among other 39 youngsters including fellow Nigerian Tom Dele-Bashiru.
5. Ramon Azeez (Granada, Spain)
Ramon Azeez had a September to remember as he scored the first goal in Granada's 2-0 win over Barcelona that paraded FIFA The Best winner Lionel Messi.
Azeez's recent performances deservedly earned him a recall to the Nigerian national team after five years in international wilderness as the Super Eagles get set to face Brazil in a high profile friendly on 13 October 2019.
6. Chidera Ejuke (SC Heerenveen, Holland)
SC Heerenveen winger Chidera Ejuke has thrice made the Dutch Team of the Week and had perhaps his best performance in September in the 3-0 thrashing of VVV Venlo over the weekend.
The former Valerenga of Norway player by virtue of his season so far in Holland is being tipped for a future invitation to the Super Eagles.
