Two Nigerian players, Wycombe Wanderers' Fred Onyedinma and Sheffield Wednesday's Dominic Iorfa, have been included in the Team of the Week for their respective divisions by football statistics website Whoscored.com.
In an EFL Championship clash on Saturday, Iorfa opened his account for the season in the sixth minute as the Owls recorded an impressive 4-1 road win against Middlesbrough.
The former England U21 defender registered a joint game-high four tackles, racked up the most clearances (6), won six aerial duels and was awarded a rating of 8.0.
Iorfa lined up in central defense along with Hull City's Jordy de Wijs in the Team of the Week.
A division lower, Onyedinma was recognized thanks to his brace for Wycombe Wanderers in their 3-0 rout of Rochdale at the Oil Arena.
The Nigerian-born winger opened the scoring in the 16th minute and added more gloss to the scoreline 13 minutes from time, taking his tally to 4 goals from 8 league games in the process.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Onyedinma played on the right side of midfield and had a Whoscored.com rating of 8.8.
The 22-year-old completed a game-high five dribbles, had the most shots on target (2) and won one foul for his team against The Dale.
