Leeds United rising star Yinka Adeniji has vowed to switch his international allegiance to the Republic of Ireland after alleged bullying by the Golden Eaglets coaches, including Manu Garba, during a training camp in Abuja this month, allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed.
The midfielder claims he was told by the Nigeria U17 coaches that he was not good enough because he could not play in the sun and that he was being stubborn for refusing to stay with the players at their hotel.
Adeniji has insisted that he was not disrespecting Manu Garba and chose not to be in the same hotel with the rest of the players because he had already booked another hotel prior to his trip to Abuja for the training camp.
The other foreign-based players invited told him it was a complete waste of time training with the team because of the 'substandard players' and poor facilities.
Adeniji has been scouted by Ireland and it is understood that he is in touch with a representative of the FAI over a call-up to the Republic of Ireland youth team next month.
The other option is for him to pledge his allegiance to England, however he is unlikely to receive an invite because theĀ England U17 midfield is one of their strongest departments.
